TEACHING YOUR CHILD HOW TO EXPRESS AND UNDERSTAND BASIC EMOTIONS

Your child is now at the age where they can understand basic emotions such as happiness and sadness and they can express how they feel. Take the chance to ask them how they feel about what happened in a story you are reading to them. You can first talk to them about how you felt; making them comfortable to share. Then, extend this to asking them how they feel about daily life incidents that happened at home and at school. Ensure open interaction.
